Wow, okay.
So, just to explain what happened here: We agreed on a trade and I was instructed by the other manager to submit the trade for approval. A day later, I get a message from the other manager saying that he was convinced by another manager not to do the trade because I was "sitting pretty", despite the fact that it would help his team.
No objections from me; It's well within anyone's rights to refuse any trade for whatever reason they please, but my goodness is this shady. I guess you just have to find out through experience which managers not to try and deal with....
Anyways, just wanted to give an explanation.

If you want to bring our private conversations into this, then so be it:
you asked me to do you a favor--which is why you told me to add Morneau to the deal so nobody would complan about it even though you were well aware I wasnt keeping him--then I find out not only do you not need any favors, you are in a better position then alot of owners here--so I felt such a lopsided deal as Mike Leake for Ryan Braun(which is really what the deal was & you know it)would hurt the other owners--if you were in a position like me where you were hurting for salary cap room etc.....I woulda done you a solid--but you dont need this kind of help IMO

you initiated this deal with SEVERAL private email messages, but now that you're not getting your way you decided to air this in public--I guess I ALSO learned what people not to deal with so by all means dont deal w/me again---doesnt bother me one iota--I wasnt the one asking for the favor/FT trade--YOU WERE

I wasn't the anonymous other owner involved, but I am concerned about peddling Ryan Braun for a Mike Leake (not even a rotation certainty) to any team. FWIW (and a trade this uncompetitive is my business), I think the heart of this problem is DHB's love affair with Adam Wainwright, his new F Tag. Last year the top SP auction price (other than the Wainwright bidding war) was J. Santana for $36. Just my opinion, but why not keep Braun as the F Tag and drop Wainwright? Adam can then be repurchased for $30-$35, which is much less than the $40-$45 that Braun would fetch at auction (his actual value). I can't use Braun; but the guy that F Tagged Markakis or the guy that has K-Rod as his F Tag should be sending you a far better offer than Mike Leake ASAP.

If you look at my roster you will see Ryan Braun is my FT again--since we have 4 OF spots now I readjusted my keepers to reflect that--but w/most of the top SP options being kept I wouldnt automatically assume Wainwrite will go for 30-35$--I woulda thought the same thing last year and look what happened--it's all position scarcity--if a few owners have the cap room and they all need an ace, his value will increase exponentially--I'm just not in a situation where I can keep him for $45 & I wanted to find a way to keep both him & Braun--but since I cant and we now have an additional OF spot, the poll outcome kinda pushed me back to Braun, who's been my FT for a few seasons now.......
As for the trade, if I had confirmed it, then so be it--but I hadnt confirmed it yet so I should be able to take it off the table for any reason......OR at the very least w/out being called shady by the other owner!!

First off, you did confirm it and I can prove it, both of us know that. Check your messages. If you're going to call me a liar and deny what's right there in the messages then I can't do anything about that.. So a that's a dead issue.
Secondly, the ONLY reason that I posted this publicly was to explain the trade since you decided to put "I do not confirm..." and nothing else. You didn't give any explanation, and it looked as though I just posted a trade randomly without talking to you or posted a trade that wasn't agreed upon. It makes me look like an idiot to not have a trade confirmed without any explanation, when it fact it was your renigging that canceled the deal.
3rdly, you weren't "doing me a favor" in any sense of the word with this deal. You were doing a trade that helped your team. Given the confines of this league, there are tons of trades that aren't equal in true "player"value but are equal when you consider the salaries. Even so, Morneau + Leake for Braun is hardly that lopsided even if you discount the salaries. Look back through the history of this league. Check the last 3 trade deadlines for example. You were gaining a $1 player with huge upside for a player that you were going to drop anyways.
Lastly, I didn't mean any disrespect, but in my opinion, renigging on a trade is one of the worst sins of fantasy sports outside of cheating/collusion. I refuse to deal with a manager that has a history of doing that kind of thing and that's what I meant by that comment about not dealing with you. This last part I regret doing in public and I won't discuss this anymore in public if that's what you prefer. Like I said, I'm not protesting the trade. If you want to discuss this further, feel free to PM me.

@ Maestro: I completely agree with you that the trade was in my favor which is why I accepted.
Perhaps we should alter the rules or remove the FT tag. Otherwise this is what is going to happen - trades that seem grossly unfair on the surface. It happened last offseason as well as well as the last 3 trade deadlines.

I did NOT confirm--that is what this thread was for--I agreed in principle but hadnt offically accepted the deal--I tried to do this privately & unfortunately that didnt work BUT I never called you a "liar"--because there are NO liars in this situation. I hadnt posted my confirmation yet--until I hit the accept button during the season or make a confirmation post during the offseason as far as I'm concerned the deal has not been completed/made official.........
I am done with this now. I wont be posting about it again
