Do we replace the pitching wins category with quality starts?
A YES vote is for QS
A NO vote is for WINS

I want to go on the record here--I think we could use BOTH of these categories--but I do like QS

I may consider putting up a poll to see if the league would like to add Quality Starts on the pitching side and OBP on the offensive side (if we keep holds and AVG)
Don't want to add another stat for starters if we take away the mail one (only) for middle relievers.
I am somewhat hesitant because the further a league gets away from the original 4x4 or the traditional 5x5 it seems to get somewhat gimmicky,
Granted these are some good categories we have discussed, but, the more you add the more diluted it seems to get.
Any other thoughts??

Ditto...............6 categories is borderline too many already, anything more is unquestionably "gimmicky"............with limited roster sizes you can only build a roster to encompass strength in so many categories this is why holds is such a pain.........realistically your not going to consistently win both saves and holds!

I guess this is a personal preference thing then--I personally have been in quite a few leagues w/7 or 8 offensive and pitching categories and they werent "gimmicky" one bit--as a matter of fact they are some of the better leagues I play in simply b/c you need to put the extra thought into each move/draft pick/transaction--it kinda surprises me w/all these farm team rosters and increasing salary system you guys are so adverse to adding a couple of categories--one to offense & 1 to pitching--you really think that would suddenly make the league "jump the shark" or something??
So I respect all your opinions, but that's what they are--opinions--there is no proof that adding a couple of categories will hurt the league or make it gimmicky--it's just not what you prefer, which is fine. Honestly I'm fine w/just about anything, but I do feel strongly about keeping holds--the rest is just my opinion........
