I believe $10 is too much for the free agents. It makes no sense to me that I can win guys like Ervin Santana for $8, but to keep Jody Gerut (a personal favorite, but not worth 10), it would cost me $10. I think free agent pickups should be $5 salary.

I tend to agree with chin and eulogy on this one. If I land a free agent or waiver wire player I should reap the benefits the following year if I so desire. The best minor league players being $3 contradicts a FA being $10 as well if you care to look at it that way. Not that I advocate changing minor league values though.

I agree, it should be $5 as this benefits active managers. Anyone disagree?

I actually think $3 makes even more sense. If a minor leager is $3, why not keep it consistant, and make each FA pickup $3. Just a thought.

$5 is okay with me. I wouldn't have a problem supporting the $3 crowd for next year, but $10 was what was advertised and planned for during the 2008 season.

We said $10 last year and I hate changing a rule that some teams may have used in planning for this year... that being said, I hate having to use $10 to keep pickups. I'll setup a poll for this year protecting at $5 and another one for next year protecting at $5 or $3.

i am also i favor of the $5 free agent and making the minor leaguer a $1 once he is brought up since you had the forethought to actually draft him he should be $1 and with the built in salary escalators you wll be able to develop the drafted minor leaguer for a longer period
