For the future, I would like to suggest that we consider a change in the rules on bidding in the auction, t5o require that any bid increase the prior bid by at least 10%.
My feeling is that would increase the strategy in bidding and decrease the amount of time required, each of which I consider an improvement. It would reduce, hopefully, among other things, the $1 increases on guys which just drag things out and set a new 24-hour clock.
Comments anyone?

I am not sure I understand the need to make this auction different from a typical auction or why this is even an issue. This auction is always completed well in advance of opening day so time is not an issue.

not a need, but a suggestion... it stops the $1 raises after a player has reached a price of $11 or more, and makes placing a bid and the amount a strategic decision rather than just "one more for the road" I could go into more detail, but it just IMHO makes the auction process more interesting and perhaps avoids the old let a bid stand for 18 hours and then raise by a dollar back and forth routine which we all have seen
