It has been brought up to discuss moving from the weekly head to head match ups to a straight ROTO league. Please use this area to discuss this topic.

I prefer roto leagues personally. I won this league's regular season by 50ish games one season and lost the title by like 2 RBIs that season. I'd rather have the true best team win the league, not the hottest team, or the team with the least amount of resting players in the last week. But I do see the merit in not changing something that has been working for so many years. Guys built their teams based on a H2H format afterall...
So i guess what I'm saying is that I'm okay with either lol

Much prefer to make it a roto league. Agree with Bailouts' reasons. Really dislike playoffs where rested or hurt players are left on the bench. Roto is a better demonstration of skill.

Killer Brew was by far the best team in 2013 with a 72% winning percentage. Killer Brew lost the championship in a small sample 9 day playoff. H2H is an inferior game to ROTO because the regular season is devalued. H2H is particularly unsatisfying on Yahoo because Yahoo has no provision for an H2H innings pitched limit. The Yahoo ROTO default rule allows 1400 innings pitched and thus eliminates pitcher streaming. The pitcher streaming strategy ruins the QS and the K pitching categories. I know teams get bored when they're out of it in ROTO, but using H2H to keep more teams interested comes at the price of often crowning the wrong team as champion, and for me this ruins the game.
Accordingly, I vote ROTO!

While some of my main leagues are ROTO, I would recommend that this league stay with the HTH format. We already have enough trouble keeping the bottom half of the team active and we have six teams make the playoffs. Even in our money leagues a number of ROTO teams check out by the all-star game.
In real life baseball they have a post-season for a reason. The World Series trophy does not go to the team with the best regular season record. Actually, since 2000 only three team with the best regular season record have won the World Series championship! Only three regular season "champions" actually won the world series in the last 14 years (21%). And two out of the three times they were tied with the best regular season record.
So, as long as MLB continues to have playoffs to determine the winner I think we should also.
But, the fact that Yahoo does not allow us to have a two-week match-up is one of the reasons I think we should look to Fantrax.

Yes, I agree with all of the comments. Is the best team the regular season champ, sure. BUT they are not the league champ. Just like in real life, a wild card team can become the world series champ. Honestly, I like that. Some teams have bad injuries that start them off poorly in the beginning, middle or end, but they might be the best team when fully healthy. HOWEVER, they are only ranked 6th due to injuries. If they can get in and enter fully healthy, they can still be the best team and win the league. Roto also breeds complacency and inactivity. By the all star break half the league is eliminated for all accounts, since they would have to leap frog 7 others and overcome the league leader. Stick with H2H.

I joined this league because of the format. I already have straight Roto leagues and Head to Head points leagues but not a Head to Head Roto so I would prefer it stayed as is. I was looking for some variety not more of the same.

I like the league the way it is. Both H2H and Roto leagues have their flaws and i like the way that this league blends the two formats to get the best of both.

I would vote to keep the league the way it is. I have been in a number of ROTO leagues and I never liked the rule of limiting pitcher innings. Plus, H2H keeps the league exciting. If you have a few runaway teams in ROTO, managers with less than awesome records could have less intrest in the league. I would hate to see this league become boring or even fold because we change formats. Keep it the way it is.

Most has already been said, but I too would like to keep the league with its current format.

It appears as though the consensus is to remain with our current format - Head to Head ROTO

I am glad to see this. If this had become just another roto league, with its various problems (such as half the teams becoming inactive by the All Star break), I probably would have left.
Whether the regular season leader is the best team is very questionable btw. Last year I had the 2nd best record and won the playoffs, but I think I clearly had the best team. fairly early on, I assumed that Killer Brew and my team might meet in the finals and it was absolutely clear that we would both make the playoffs. I had no reason to maximize wins during the season or to take emergency steps to cure having the closer I traded for go out for the entire season or having my FT (Hanley R) out for most of the season. I had these and other injury problems cured by the end of the season and expected to win.
