Should this league have two divisions of 7 teams? And if so please state how you may like them divided? Geographical, based on last years standings, etc.

I think geographically would be the ideal way to separate the teams in each division, however I havent really thought about what the final product would look like(whether or not it would stack one division or the other)...........but if the playoff seeding will stay "seeded by overall record" we should be fine regardless I suppose

I hope I am being appropriately polite, but why would we do this? Does Yahoo arrange the schedule by division? Can a 7th best team make the playoffs by winning a division? Does a division winner get a first round playoff bye even though it is not the best or second best team? How can we vote without these questions answered? If the answer to any of the questions is "yes", then I will vote "no"; and this is a terrible idea. What is the point?

There could be a number of reasons to go this way - as have been mentioned before it helps create rivalries, may not seem as imposing with 7 teams in one division as 14 - if you are near the bottom. The schedules can be customized. Therefore, a league with two divisions can have each team play the other teams in their division twice and those in the other division once. There are three settings for divisions winners - winners get byes, winners make the playoffs - but not necessarily byes, division winners do not make the playoffs - unless they finish in the top six (so six teams could logistically make it from one division). Why is it a terrible idea? I hope I am being appropriately polite, but why would we do this? Does Yahoo arrange the schedule by division? Can a 7th best team make the playoffs by winning a division? Actually Maestro since we play an imbalanced schedule currently, the best teams do not always get in the playoffs now.
Consider the 2 teams battling for last playoff spot:
Team A played the top 2 teams in the league 4 times Team B played the top 2 teams in the league 2/3 times meanwhile playing the bottom feeding or Cubbalonians abandoned team additional times.
Team A finishes 7th Team B finishes 6th
This is a potentially real scenario under current format and can you really tell me that the best team got in the playoffs?
Therefore the advantage of divisions would be if we played balanced schedules.
