AUCTION:
The Auction: Your team has a $260 yearly budget (minus $ used for your protected players) to use. At least $1 must be spent on each of the 26 players (except for one Franchise Tagged player). Each owner must conclude the auction with a full roster of 27 players conforming to the roster requirements set out above. DL spots are in-season only.
Player Eligibility: Players may be purchased in the auction from Major and Minor League teams, but Minor Leaguers must be available in the Yahoo! player database. International players with MLB contracts are allowed to be taken in the auction. Minor leaguers purchased during the auction will be treated as Major Leaguers, and must fill a roster spot.
Trades During Auction: You may not trade your auction dollars during the draft, but you may trade already drafted players.
IN SEASON:
During the season there is no salary cap. This is to promote trading and allow teams to build up for championship runs, or to go into rebuilding mode.
MAXIMUM MOVES:
Only five moves per week will be allowed
MINIMUM INNINGS PITCHED:
A minimum of 35 innings pitched per week will be required by an active pitching staff to accumulate points.
KEEPERS:
Each year you may keep players who’s total values do not exceed $100. Each kept player will have the following raise in salary.
$1-$10 players receive a $5 raise
$11-$20 players receive a $4 raise
$21+ receive a $3 raise.
Salary raises must be taken into account when determining your $100 keeper cap.
Players who were added as Un-Auctioned Free Agents have a salary of $3 the following year.
Players called up during the year from a farm team and subsequently kept will have a salary of $1 the following year.
Each team can Franchise Tag (FT) one player who can be kept for free. Once a player is FT’ed in subsequent years he must either be FT’ed or released. You can trade FT players both during the off-season and during the season, but, only one player may use the Franchise Tag designation when the rosters are locked and the other FT player(s) will be placed back into the auction.
FREE AGENTS:
Players Eligible: Free agents are players who are currently on the yahoo database. Minor Leaguers cannot be added to your Minor Roster through free agency. Rosters will be frozen after the league playoffs, and may not be changed by any method other than a trade.
Players that are released keep the same salary for the remainder of the year regardless of which team picks them up. Un-Auctioned player pick-ups may be kept for the next year at a salary of $3. Auctioned player pickups may be retained the following year for their original auction price + the applicable raise.
WAIVER BUDGET
Our in-season Waiver system utilizes FAAB. In a Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) waivers system, each manager receives $100 to place blind bids on waived players. The manager with the highest bid at the end of the waiver period claims that player and that bid amount is deducted from the team's acquisition budget. If multiple managers place an equal bid on a player, ties are broken on a continual rolling list basis: waiver claims are processed in waiver priority order and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list.
Managers may bid anywhere from one dollar to their remaining acquisition budget on a waived player. Managers with no remaining budget must wait until a player clears waivers and becomes a free agent to add him to their team.
The winning FAAB prices have no correlation with the following years keeper price. The player's price will be based on their original auction price plus the correct salary increase.
TRADES:
Auction Trades: You may not trade your auction dollars during the draft, but you may trade already drafted players. Minor League draft picks and players on your minor league roster may be traded.
Season Trades: In-season trades must result in balanced rosters for all participating teams. If a trade is unbalanced, releasing/adding of a player must be stated at the time of the trade. Rosters shall be frozen after the league playoffs, and may not be changed by any method other than a trade.
Offseason Trades: Trades shall be allowed during the offseason following the conclusion of the MLB World Series up until the date which keepers are due. No balancing of rosters is required for offseason trades.
Questionable trades (both off-season and during the season) will be voted upon by league. A protest must be made publicly within 72 hours of the trade being confirmed. 50% against the trade will be a veto
PLAYOFFS:
6 top teams make the playoffs with #1 and #2 getting a bye.
The final is a 2 week matchup.
FARM TEAMS / MINOR LEAGUES:
Each year, prior to the auction, we will hold a 3 round Minor League draft. Once a MiLB player is drafted he’s yours until the season after he reaches his 130th AB or 50th IP. At that point they must be added to a team's roster (at $1) or dropped. Drafted players must be below the 130th AB or 50th IP limits - players can be selected from minor leagues, college players, high school players, international players - anywhere!
Minor League players and picks can be traded. Adding a minor league player to your regular yahoo roster eliminates him from your farm team. Minor League players cost nothing to keep as long as they are on your MiLB team. Called up MiLB team players before the roster freeze can be protected for $1.
The only way you can add to your Minor League team is through the 3-round draft or by trade. Once a player is called to the active roster he can not return to any Minor League team.
