i was wondering how you guys felt about applying any leftover auction money being applied to the following years initial keepers OR applying it to the following years total to be spent
obviously we can discuss it and come up with something to be applied next year
the examples would be if after next years auction you only spent a total of 250 the leftover 10 would either be applied to your initial 100 keeper, so you would then have 110 towards your keepers and still 160 to spend OR you would have 100 on keepers and 170 to spend
just a thought of how to reward owners that dont overpay for players and keep to a certain budget....
thoughts?

considering how quickly inflation affects our bottom line in this format I would be inclined to use a rule like this----any way we can increase our cap space is OK by me........

My initial thought is that I would be opposed to this change. You are already rewarded the following year for you're good decisions because those players that you bought smartly are bargains the following year. This is one of the primary causes for inflation. You also have inflation through the Franchise Tag. Though not literally but because of the aforementioned factors teams are already starting out with vastly different money situations. And the league already has those rules in place which reward owners who make the best decisions.

We can bring this up next off season to see what we may be able to do for the following year.

I am 100% opposed to this suggestion. Sorry, but it could lead to silly results, like someone spending almost nothing one year in order to double up the following year. That is extreme, I know, and assuredly would not happen, but it is the logical extension of this idea and leads the league in a direction I think inadvisable.

Agree that this would not be a good rule change. It is what makes the auction what it is. To build a team within the current year's budget.
